HOUSTON: On Tuesday 11 February 2014 members and guests gathered to officially unveil the new Houston Metroplex Chapter of the Association of the United States Army at a general membership meeting / dinner at the Westin Oaks Houston.
The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports America's Army - Active, National Guard, Reserve, Civilians, Retirees, Government Civilians, Wounded Warriors, Veterans, and family members. AUSA provides numerous Professional Development Opportunities at a variety of events both local and national.
Austin: Sheri Sanders Givens, former Legal Counsel for the Office of the Public Utility Counsel, was presented with a Citation for Exceptional Service in Support of National Defense by the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) in ceremonies held recently at Camp Mabry in Austin.
For more than four years, Givens served as lead attorney for the state’s Office of the Public Utility Counsel. Though her responsibilities were primarily focused on representing retail and small business consumers before state courts or commissions, she also travelled to military bases and Reserve or National Guard armories throughout Texas, explaining how military families could cut their own household electric bills.
